Indus Motor has a successful history of sponsoring the energetic teams of engineering students from various universities who challenge themselves for the completion of international level, the Shell Eco-Marathon. This is a unique competition that challenges students around the world to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient car. In this annual event at continental level, student teams take their vehicle to the track to see who goes further on one least amount of fuel.
So far, Indus Motor sponsored to GIK Institute of Engineering Science & Technology, KPK, to the Pakistan Naval Engineering College (PNEC-NUST), Karachi, etc. For the upcoming Asian based Shell Eco Marathon 2018, scheduled for March 2018 in Singapore, Indus Motor has pledged sponsorship to a team of the National University of Science & Technology, Rawalpindi, which was shortlisted based on need and competencies basis competing within the requests received from various universities.
Students participate in this contest learnt how to put knowledge and theory skills into use. It also educated the importance of environment protection and concept of energy saving. After the event, a reception at Indus Motor holds in which the Team presented their challenges, experience and learning to IMC management and employees.
Mr Zaiviji Ismail, the then Country Chairman Shell Pakistan, during his address appreciated the efforts of Indus Motor for supporting this worthy initiative and for highlighting the positive image of Pakistan at a global forum.
SDG-4 for Pakistan is a national campaign to engage young Pakistanis in meaningful participation in the development of by equipping young people with skills, knowledge and confidence in their abilities, we believe that there is a real chance that global leaders can harness the potential of young people to reach the SDGs over the next 14 years.
