18th QCC Convention

Indus Motor Company organized the 18th QCC Convention 2011 on September 17, 2011 at Hotel Pearl Continental, Karachi. A large audience consisting of IMC employees, vendor, dealers, including eminent businessmen, attended this convention.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Productivity Organization, Ministry of Industries and Production, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf, was invited as the chief guest of the ceremony who also inaugurated the convention. Mr Khawaja Yousuf appreciated the efforts of Indus Motor Company for regularly holding the QCC Convention and promoting Kaizen initiative for continuous improvement. He also highlighted some of the initiatives undertaken by the government in this regards.

CEO, Mr. Parvez Ghias, gave a brief overview of various QCC activities in IMC and emphasized the importance of Kaizen and teamwork spirit among the team members.

The first position in the 18th QCC Convention 2011 was awarded to Quality Control Circle “EVALUATOR” from the Assembly Shop. Their theme was “to improve the quality of trim line”. In this Kaizen activity, the circle successfully reduced the assembly defect per unit (DPU) which helped to improve the vehicle quality on the assembly line. To achieve this, the circle successfully modified the hydraulic equipment profile and its movement.

Winners of the 18th QCC Convention will represent the Indus Motor Company in the Global QCC convention, Japan.
