To search for an answer for such conundrum, Indus Motor encourages and supports financially to theyoung and bright minds engineering students to participate in global competition, such as Shell Eco Marathon.
The Marathon is a global competition to design and build a vehicle that uses the least amount of fuel to travel the farthest distance. It has set a benchmark for innovation in the recent years, galvanizing University students to contest globally to make ultra-efficient vehicles. This event sparks debate about the future of mobility and inspires youngsters to push boundaries of fuel efficiency to a greater level.
In the recent past, Indus Motor sponsored energetic teams of students from GIK Institute of Engineering Science & Technology, KPK and PNEC-NUST (Pakistan Naval Engineering College), Karachi who participated in Berlin, Germany and Manila, Philippine and achieved good results of their capacity.
For the upcoming Asian based Shell Eco Marathon 2017, scheduled for March 2017 in Singapore, Indus Motor has pledged sponsorship to a team of GIK Institute of Engineering Science & Technology, which was shortlisted based on competencies from the requests received from various universities.
Mr Parvez Ghias, CEO, Indus Motor Company, speaking at a reception held for the team at Toyota’s plant, congratulated the team, and mentioned that as an automobile company, Indus Motor strives to strengthen the relationship between the industry and academic institutions.
Mr Zaiviji Ismail, Country Chairman Shell Pakistan, during his address appreciated the efforts of Toyota Team for supporting this worthy initiative and for highlighting the positive image of Pakistan at a global forum. He said that Shell and IMC have collaborated on a number of CSR initiatives and hoped that this partnership will continue in the future as well.
