Through its Toyota – Goth Education Program, Indus Motor Company provides educational support to underdeveloped and poor communities in communities adjacent to IMC’s facilities.
This program was initiated in 2008, aiming to spread literacy, encourage positive social and mental upbringing and to give hope for a better future. It enrolls 50 children every year – whereas presently 250 children have been enrolled and are presently studying in the current academic session started in April 2012. Full support is being provided by IMC to all the enrolled students to meet their educational expenses, like school’s fees, books and stationery, uniform, school bags, shoes, etc.
This project creates a favorable reputation for Toyota and enhances corporate image in the neighboring communities as well as in the company’s employees. The running cost of the program at this time is over Rs. 660,000 per year.
