Managing Officer, Toyota Motor Corporation visits Indus Motor Company - Sep 20, 2007
Yasuhiko Yokoi, Managing Officer, Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan visited Indus Motor Company on August 31, 2007. During the plant visit, he was shown the manufacturing processes and was given a presentation on IMC’s programs and performance. He also reviewed the company’s expansion plans and visited an Indus dealership and vendor.
Yokoi also attended the company’s Board of Directors Meeting and the company’s 16th Annual Dealer Conference. The Dealer Conference, which had the theme, “Moving Forward” was attended by the company’s dealers, senior management from Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, House of Habib and the Indus Team.
Yokoi praised IMC on achieving the milestone of 50,000 sales during the year and congratulated the company on increasing its production capacity to cater to the demand for its vehicles. He noted the growth of the Pakistan automobile market and mentioned that Toyota and Indus are committed to providing its customers the best products and after sales service.
To recognize the dealers’ efforts, awards were presented to the best dealerships in the three regions. The Nationwide Sales Award was won by Toyota Southern Motors. In the Service category, the award was won by Toyota Faisalabad Motors. Toyota Central Motors won the Nationwide Parts Award while Toyota Frontier Motors won the Nationwide Customer Relations Award. The overall Nationwide Best Performance Award was bagged by Toyota Faisalabad Motors for the second consecutive year.
During his address at the conference, Ali S. Habib, Chairman, Indus Motor Company stated that the country has seen strong growth in the automobile sector and the company, in continuation of its expansion strategy, is in the process of finalizing its plans till 2015. He welcomed the Auto Industry Development Plan, prepared by the Engineering Development Board in consultation with the auto industry and said that this would pave the way for further investment, technology flow and employment in the auto sector.
Parvez Ghias, CEO, highlighted the human side of the company. He reiterated the fact that Indus Motor is not just a car manufacturer, it is aware of the contribution it needs to make to improve society at large. As a “Concern Beyond Cars”, the company has several social projects and initiatives in the areas of road safety, environment, health and education.
