Toyota sponsors 2007 Lahore President’s Polo Cup - Feb 8, 2007
Indus Motor Company, in pursuance of its initiatives to promote sporting excellence in the country, have sponsored the ‘Toyota President’s Polo Cup 2007’, being held at the Lahore Polo Club from 12th to 18th of February. This was officially announced to the media at a press conference held at the Club, which was addressed by IMC’s Regional Manager Ahsan Umar, and the Secretary of the Lahore Polo Club, Irfan Ali Hyder.
Addressing the conference at the occasion, Ahsan Umar said, ‘Indus Motor Company, manufacturers of Toyota and Daihatsu vehicles in Pakistan, are ardent supporters of various sporting initiatives in Pakistan over the years. In the past, Indus Motor has sponsored various Cricket, Golf, Tennis and other sports tournaments. Indus is one of the sponsors of the Lahore International Marathon and has also presented its cars for the Man of the Match Awards in international cricket matches between Pakistan and other countries. In recognition of the company’s contribution towards sports and other social causes, Indus was recently presented “The Pakistan Corporate Philanthropy Award” for 2004. Polo, known as the ‘King of Games’ is another sport where Indus has yet another opportunity to contribute and to promote the best of Pakistan’s sporting heritage.’
Irfan Ali Hyder added, ‘The Lahore Polo Club is at the forefront of promoting the sport of Polo in Pakistan, and has one of the largest tournament rosters in the country, with more than 29 tournaments scheduled in 2007. The ‘Toyota – President’s Polo Cup 2007’ will be our major event this year, with 8 teams, including over 15 international players from countries such as UK, Argentina, India, etc. competing for the trophy.
Alongside the President’s Polo Cup Tournament, Indus Motor has also organized a number of additional activities that include an exclusive threeday Camry Training Camp for free horse riding and training for invitees. Indus will also be allowing visitors the opportunity to test drive some premier Toyota models, including the Camry, Altis, Prado and Land Cruiser at the tournament venue.
