6th Toyota Technical Educational Program (TTEP) Career Day at the Government College of Technology, Lahore. - Jan 19, 2007
Indus Motor Company held the 6th Toyota Technical Educational Program (TTEP) Career Day at the Government College of Technology, Lahore. Capt. (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha, Additional Secretary Welfare, Procurement & Transport, Govt. of Punjab was the Chief guest. Participants included representatives of the automobile industry, academicians, automobile vendors, dealers and representatives of Indus Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan.
Capt. (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha, praised the efforts of Indus Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation and lauded the role of TTEP in bridging the gap between industry and technical education. He appreciated the TTEP program, which serves the community and is beyond any commercial consideration. He suggested that similar programs be established in other areas.
Raza Ansari, Senior General Manager Marketing & Sales, IMC thanked Government College of Technology for collaborating with Indus Motor. He mentioned that Toyota focuses on its two pillars – Respect for People and Kaizen (Continuous Improvement). It is in this spirit that TTEP was set up in Pakistan. He added that Toyota and IMC as good corporate citizens, have participated in many philanthropic activities to encourage the process of continuous learning, both on the job as well as in educational institutions.
The speeches were followed by recruitment interviews. 16 graduating students were short listed for employment in Indus Motor Company and in the Toyota Dealership Network, to start their On Job Training (OJT). To date, several hundred TTEP students have graduated and found jobs in Pakistan.
