Speaker National Assembly, Ch. Amir Hussain visits Indus Motor Company. - Dec 19, 2006 Speaker National Assembly, Chaudhary Amir Hussain visited Indus Motor Company on 19th December, 2006. He was given a tour of the Indus Motor Company Plant by Ali S. Habib (Chairman Indus Motor Company) and other members of the senior management team. Ch. Amir Hussain reviewed the operations and appreciated the company’s performance saying, “Toyota is the most popular and reliable car. Due to its high quality and performance, Toyota is in high demand.” Ch. Amir Hussain also praised Indus Motor Company’s performance in production of Toyota and Daihatsu vehicles at the plant and congratulated the company on increasing its production capacity nearly four times in the last four years to meet the tremendous demand of its vehicles. There has been considerable transfer of technology from Japan, which has in turn provided more employment opportunities and has increased the skill level of workers via training. Mr. Ali S. Habib briefed the Speaker in detail on Pakistan’s automobile industry and hoped that the government would soon finalize a long term auto policy including the suggestions of the auto sector so that further investment and production expansion can continue. The Speaker National Assembly appreciated the role of the auto sector and mentioned that this sector is one of the key drivers of Pakistan’s economy. More Pictures
