Indus Motor builds houses for earthquake affectees - Apr 3, 2006
Indus Motor Company has constructed three earthquake resistant model houses on self help basis in the villages of Majhoi and Mang Omar Khan in the Jhelum valley of Azad Kashmir. The company is planning to replicate these houses in a larger, ongoing reconstruction effort that will cover several settlements in the affected areas.



Indus Motor Company not only contributed to the President’s Earthquake Relief Fund, but had also set up base camps at Muzaffarabad and Mansehra, assigning 11 Hilux vehicles for the distribution of relief goods and for medical camps for the earthquake affected villages and remote settlements. The Indus Earthquake Relief Team provided first aid, food, winter jackets and warm clothes, winterized tents, blankets, sleeping bags, household items, construction implements and materials to the quake victims.

IMC aims to demonstrate responsible corporate conduct throughout its operations and apart from responding to natural calamities, it also undertakes a broad range of social initiatives in the areas of health, education, community development and environment.
