Toyota Japan lauds Indus Motor capacity enhancement efforts - Sep 2, 2005
Karachi, September 2, 2005: Managing Officer and Director Toyota Motor Corporation Japan, Mr. K. Takarada visited the Indus Motor plant and appreciated the company for its consistent efforts towards meeting Toyota Global Standards.



During the visit, Takarada San was given a detailed presentation by the Indus Management Team followed by a tour of the manufacturing facilities wherein he closely examined the plant and reviewed the company’s progress. He expressed his satisfaction towards the efforts made by Indus in producing high-quality cars and in enhancing production in order to cater to the increased demand. He noted the high productivity and sense of dedication with which the Indus Team Members were working on the production floor.



Mr. Takarada also inaugurated the new automatic paint reciprocator facility at the plant. Speaking at the occasion, he said, “With many KAIZEN, the IMC team has been able to improve productivity, increase efficiency and lower costs. For this, all members of the Indus Motor team deserve great appreciation”. He reiterated that Toyota Motor Corporation, as in the past, will continue to support Indus Motor in its future expansion plans also.



While commenting on the overall economic scenario of Pakistan vis-à-vis the auto sector, Mr. Takarada said, “The improvement in economic climate, enhanced auto financing, and political stability are the main reasons for growth in the demand of automobiles in Pakistan. The recent upsurge in the automobile market is a result of stable policies of the Government of Pakistan. However, it is necessary that long term policies are clearly spelt out and remain investment friendly.
